Thor, as portrayed by Chris Hemsworth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is a central figure in the franchise. He first appeared in the 2011 film, Thor, marking his official introduction to the MCU.

He is the crown prince of Asgard, a realm connected to Earth via a cosmic bridge. Initially arrogant and impulsive, Thor is banished to Earth by his father, Odin, to learn humility.
